I’m originally from a town in Indiana where I spent my formative years in either the public library or the bowling alley. (To this day, the sound of crashing pins makes me nostalgic.) Since 1998 I’ve lived in Los Angeles, and in 2005 earned my M.F.A. at Antioch University. In addition to writing, I also teach and work as an editor. For five years, I was editorial assistant at the wonderful Santa Monica Review. I’ve completed a collection of stories and am working on my first novel. When I’m not bemoaning the untimely passing of the Oxford comma, I also, sometimes, make art.
